WHAT IS PROJECT GRADUATION?

Project Graduation is a parent led and community sponsored all-night, alcohol and drug-free celebration for high school graduates. The concept began over 20 years ago in Maine, when 19 graduates died in alcohol related accidents over a two-year period. The concept has since been adopted in school districts across the country.

Project Graduation is offered as a gift to both congratulate the senior class on a major accomplishment and to provide a safe, substance-free and enjoyable environment for celebrating on graduation night.

The enormous success and growth of these events have proven that combined efforts of parents, business leaders, school system administrators, and local officials can impact student safety. Event hopping on graduation night usually involves drinking and driving. It is sometimes not enough to tell our students to "Just Say NO!" We must give them an alternative to which they can, and will, say 'YES!"
